Race-Based Traumatic Stress

You are not “too sensitive.” You are responding to harm.

MotherlandCo. holds sacred the emotional labor and embodied toll of living at the intersections of racism, oppression, and survival. Race-based traumatic stress shows up in many forms—hypervigilance, exhaustion, somatic symptoms, disconnection, rage, grief—and all are valid.

We offer space to name, process, and heal:

  • Racial trauma and microaggressions in the workplace or medical settings

  • Intergenerational and ancestral trauma

  • State-sanctioned violence and community grief

  • Code-switching fatigue and internalized oppression

  • Collective trauma from anti-Blackness, xenophobia, colorism, and erasure

Our therapists use liberatory frameworks and culturally centered practices to support your healing. We believe in rest as resistance, grief as sacred, and joy as a birthright.
